Continuing along, the audience moves outside the Veranda to view a piece on the porch. Then, the audience emerges from the woods and watches a piece at the Fountain. Audience members will move back through the parking lot and the Studio Garden to watch the piece at the Glade. The performance starts at the Barn Lawn, past the restrooms. ![]() After, the audience will follow the path to the Glade. Audience members will continue through the woods to the Outside Room. Terrain may be rocky, with roots and plants in wooded areas. This performance moves along the grounds at Chesterwood and requires walking over rocky terrain for approximately 1 hour, with six separate 5-10 minute periods of standing to view the individual performances (some seating will be available at each performance location). This performance is funded in part by the Stockbridge Cultural Council and Chesterwood. The resulting performance will celebrate the joy of dance and artistic collaboration between the dance community and a place of historic and natural significance in the Berkshires, sharing the work of dance artists of all ages and experience levels with the community. Chesterwood’s curator has helped to gather historical research on how the spaces were used and by whom. Work is based on historic photographs of people, places, and captured moments on the Chesterwood grounds. This will be performed as a part of Chesterwoods' Arts Alive series on Thursday, July 27 at 4pm and 6pm. Spirits of Chesterwood is an intergenerational dance project created by 7 local choreographers in the Pulse community.
